Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Churchill County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the site may be kept long enough to address the message and maintain necessary records. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Routine server logs collect technical details when a visitor opens a page:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when one is reported
- Pages opened and the length of each visit
- Device category and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a visitor's device. They and analytics services help produce combined traffic measures, such as frequently viewed pages and common exit points. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some website features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing faults and other technical problems
- Maintaining site speed, access, and basic operation
- Routing a query to the selected search provider
- Measuring which material visitors use most
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Churchill County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its material identifies how to request records from Churchill County courts, the Sheriff's Office, the Nevada State Police Records Bureau Central Repository, and the Nevada Sex Offender Registry Website. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not used to create consumer reports or dossiers about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search tools. A query submitted through one of those tools is governed by that provider's privacy policy, including its retention and disclosure rules. Those practices are outside this site's control. Review the provider's terms before submitting information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Churchill County offices, Nevada agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy terms apply. Those terms should be read before personal details are provided.
Some advertising companies may track activity across websites to select ads. That tracking takes place through their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving material on the pages
- Search providers that process a submitted query
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system is completely secure, however, and the site cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under age 18. Verified notice that a minor supplied such data will lead to its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Rights over visitor data may depend on where the visitor lives. Nevada's Public Records Act, NRS Chapter 239, governs access to governmental records rather than data held by this private site. NRS Chapter 179A separately controls access to and dissemination of criminal-history information from Nevada's Central Repository. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal data held about that visitor
- Seek correction of inaccurate visitor data
- Ask for deletion where the law permits it
- Decline certain forms of data processing when that right applies
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A new version becomes available on this page and carries its own effective date.
